Now we have John McCain who is already trying to fan the flames of lunacy and wage new wars around the world with an already over-stretched and underfunded military. Iran, North Korea and even Russia have been a target of the Bush, McCain policies. War-mongering. And in this election they are trying to scare people away from Obama through the typical Republican tactic of Fear-mongering and negative attacks. Trying to portray him as "Elitist, dangerously in-experienced, potential Muslim, a radical leftist Marxist, arrogant asshole, a Messiah, even the Anti-Christ"...the list goes on and on and on. And I for one am fucking sick of it. I am. You can see right through these bastards. It's like they aren't even trying to cover up the fact that they are unapologetic racist bigots. They are so full of bullshit, their eyes are turning brown. All these political pundits focus on are ridiculous vocal gaffes, pointless biased polls and personal attacks. Want to know why? Because they have nothing! They have nothing left to defend themselves with. They can't win on any issue, because anybody with half a brain can tell you they we are worse off now with Conservative rule. It's just a fact. You can find multiple statistics, graphs, millions of anecdotal stories, and experts who all say: "Republicans...you fucked us royally this time." For some reason though, a little less than half the nation, is sticking to the ideology of the past 7 years. It really blows my fucking mind...really it does. Apparently if you don't agree with the war or your president you are automatically labeled - Un-American. So the brainwashed sheep just fall in line, for the fear of being against their beloved nation. If anybody knew anything about being American, they would realize that standing up for something you believe is unjust is literally the definition of being American, so you fat ass dissenters can shut the fuck up and sit on it for once.
So as the 2008 approached us I guess you can say I was anxious to see who would turn this trend around. It didn't take very long. Barack Obama. A graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he served as president of the Harvard Law Review, Obama worked as a community organizer and practiced as a civil rights attorney before serving in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004. He taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. In January 2003 he announced his campaign for the U.S. Senate in January 2003. He worked on legislation to control conventional weapons and to promote greater public accountability in the use of federal funds. He also helped to introduce legislation in relation to lobbying and electoral fraud. He announced his presidential campaign on a cold day in February 2007.
Now that you've gotten a little background on Barack let me tell you why I think this baddass will be one of the best presidents in the history of the good ole USA. First off, the thing that drew me to him initially was that when he spoke...it was actually a language I could recognize, something that most politicians didn't seem to have a grasp off. I don't know if you guys have ever heard it. It's called: Common Sense. It's when a person says something and it connects with you because it uses these two simple little concepts called: Logic and Reason. For example, when Barack asks why we don't get rid of the massive tax break that the wealthiest people in the top 1% get from our current president and use that extra cash to fund clean energy and invest in our middle class, to create new jobs and the infrastructure of our nation, that's called Common Sense. Barack says lets give a $1000 income tax credit to every American to lessen the burden of high gas and food prices instead of drilling for oil that we don't even know exists and won't get for up to 5-7 years and is only 3% percent of the entire world when we use 25% of the world's oil. I don't know about you but that seems pretty logical to me. Can't you see how radical Barack is looking already? He actually wants to spend billions (which we'll have because we won't be in a long drawn out war spending 10 billions a month) to invest in green technologies that would create millions of jobs and build a cleaner future, where we don't have to rely on countries that fund terrorism. He such an extremist! Naw he's not...maybe just extreme to the max, bitch! How about a foreign policy where we actually develop working relationships with other countries instead of rattling our sabers at them? Radical? Apparently using diplomacy is considering weak and considered using appeasement to get what you want? How about a president around the world who for once is respected and viewed not as an idiot and dictator, but as someone with compassion and understanding? To end the genocide in Darfur and give humanitarian aid around the world. How our F-Grade education system? Someone who wants to give a $4000 credit to pay for college for people who work for their country through community service and hard work. This is a president who would actually work to bring people together by not being divisive. I don't know about you, but usually when some appears benevolent and shows good judgment and character I'm generally not too hesitant to lend a helping hand for the better. We used to have this thing in our nation called, Pride. It was when we actually weren't embarrassed to say we were from the USA. It was during the greatest generation when everybody pitched in and built this country to be the best it could be. We can be that again. Barack is someone who could have made bank working for Wall Street, but instead invested his life to help those less fortunate in the South Side of Chicago. Repubs, have a problem with this because they say that having years of experience is a requirement of being president. We've seen where experience gets us. We seem to remember them using these same tactics against Clinton in 1992. Too young...too inexperienced...We'll I also happen to remember our country as thriving economically and being more respected around the world then ever before. You can't use that argument anymore, it just doesn't stick. What we need is good judgment. This is what Barack offers. Don't take it from me; just watch this man in action. Every time an issue has been posed in the last year, Barack has been right on and John McCain has subsequently followed in line with, including George Bush. The timeline for the pullout of troops in Iraq, drilling for oil, the gas tax, veterans benefits...the list goes on. Like I said don't just take this from me, research it. The only thing I looked for this election was someone who made sense. Barack was that guy. You don't need to have 30-40+ years of experience you just need judgement. That's why you have a cabinet. You select people who are 100x smarter than you and they advise you! There's never been a president who had a perfect grasp on every issue. You surround yourself with experts and not just yes men. Which is what Barack has already done to some extent. That's what makes a good president in contrast to a great president. Plus he's not too bad at 3-pointers. This is about us this time guys, we can actually make a change to the world we live in. We don't have to settle for the same shit again. We don't have to be cynical for another 4 years. We have something to inspire us to be better. The idea that we shouldn't have to stand for the world the way it is. We can do better people. Barack is the leader for the positive Change that we need and all we have to do is believe in ourselves. We don't need an out of touch 70+ year old, who has no idea what it is to be middle class or poor. It's time for the people to actually govern the country instead of the top 1%. Don't give in to the fear that they are feeding you. This isn't a cult or a power grab or a conspiracy. It's simply the next logical step to improve humanity and it starts with you.
